Nanette was born and raised in North Queensland, and currently works as a high school teacher in Townsville.  She has decades of experience in education across all sectors and school leadership. She has an extensive history working in different elements of the Education industry including, working in the United Kingdom for two years as an English and history teacher, as a deputy principal, director of teaching at a large regional Queensland independent boarding school, national secretary of the Association for Adolescent Success and as a University lecturer and course writer.  Nanette has also been awarded an Australia Day Achievement Award by Education Queensland for her contribution to education in her district.

She is also a mother of three adult sons, and is running because she wants Townsville – one of Australia’s most important regional centres – to advance economically, socially and culturally.

Nanette will be campaigning for long-term water delivery, affordable energy for North Queensland and the creation of jobs and infrastructure to provide more opportunity for young people and families in the Townsville region.   She is a unique, determined and action-oriented voice for the people of Herbert.

Nanette believes it is time for Townsville to be represented by a North Queensland party truly invested in the people of the North, and not the southern-based major parties that have failed Townsville in the past.
